Intimacy Matters

I am a graduate of Troy University (Dothan, AL) with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (1999) and a Master’s Degree in Counseling & Psychology with an emphasis in Community Counseling (2009). I am an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) through the state of Alabama and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors. I am a Board Certified Christian Counselor through the American Association of Christian Counselors.  Currently, I am completing the criteria for credentialing as a clinical sexual addictions specialist, also through the American Association of Christian Counselors. I am a member of Chi Sigma Iota, a counseling academic and professional honor society.

The decision to become a counselor was made through a lot of prayer, thought and guidance throughout my lifetime. I am privileged to be part of the counseling ministry of Intimacy Matters through Westgate Church. My life experiences have taught me a great deal about relationships, spirituality, and the importance of self. I certainly do not think I have all the answers or even part of them; however, God continues to daily teach me how to surrender my life and live faithfully to Him. Life is a journey where things are constantly changing.

• Completed a year Internship at Living Waters Counseling Center

• Teacher and aide at Westgate Christian School for 14 years

• Worked in the medical community for 7 years

I was born in Enterprise, Alabama, and grew up in Dothan. I married my high school sweet heart from Amarillo, Texas, after a short “long distance” relationship in 1988. We have a son, Landon, born in 1989, and a daughter, Karlee, born in 1991.

My hobbies include spending time with my family and listening to music. My favorite music is listening to Landon play the guitar while he and Karlee sing. My favorite memories are picnics, water skiing, tubing and boating at the lake. God has blessed me so much more than I deserve!
